Chisapani Nagarkot Trek starts after the sightseeing of the UNESCO World heritage sites inside Kathmandu Valley.We start our trek from Sundarijal after driving 45 minutes from Kathmandu. It is an easy and short trek near Kathmandu valley. We begin our trek from Sundarijal through forested route towards Chisapani. During the trek in the Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park, you can witness some of the amazing views of the mountain ranges too.

Sundarijal is about 15 km away from Kathmandu and it will take about an hour to reach. After arriving at Sundarijal you will start your trek towards Chisapani. It will take about 5 hours of a walk but before that, you will pass through Mulkharka village and the forest of oaks and rhododendron before reaching Chisapani. You will pass through several villages like Jhule, Chauki Bhanjyang etc. In clear weather, you can have an amazing view of the mountains such as Mt. Jugal, Dorje Lakpa, Manaslu, Gaurishankar etc. It will take about 6 hours to reach Nagarkot situated at an elevation of 2,175 meters above sea level.

The views of the mountain ranges can be seen from the top of the Nagarkot view point during the morning time. The sunrise view is just amazing.We can reach this place before sunrise.

Chisapani :-
Situated about 2,215 meters above sea level Chisapani is one of the favourite hiking places near Kathmandu. It is one of the nearest places from Kathmandu that can offer amazing mountain ranges and high waterfalls. Chisapani means “Cold Water” in English and lies in Shivapuri National Park. The oak and rhododendron forest are also the main highlights of the trek. Mainly Brahmin, Gurungs and Sherpas live in Chispani. Starting the hike from Sundarijal is the popular and the easiest way to reach Chisapani.

Nagarkot:-
Nagarkot is one of the popular tourist spots near Kathmandu valley. Most of the tourists visit Nagarkot sunrise and sunset view. With an altitude of 2,175 meters above sea level, Nagarkot is the best place to witness some of the beautiful mountain ranges. Some of the mountain ranges include Annapurna, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Langtang Jugal etc. October to April is the best time to visit Nagarkot Nepal to have an amazing view of such mountain ranges.

Details Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu.

After arriving in Kathmandu, a representative from Himalayan Encyclopedia will pick you up from the airport and take you to the hotel. In the afternoon, we may take a rest or visit Himalayan Encyclopedia’s office. In the evening, there will be a welcome dinner hosted by Himalayan Encyclopedia. For dinner, you will be served authentic Nepalese cuisine .Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 02: Kathmandu:Sightseeing and trip preparation

After breakfast we start guided tour of most historical monuments of Kathmandu and Bhaktapur which are listed in UNESCO world heritage site.We visit historical site of Pashupatinath,Boudhanath,Swoyambhunath. Swyoambhu nath is also Called Monkey temple as hundred of monkey live nearby. Durbar Square consist of lots of historical temples such as temple of living Goddess Kumari,the Jaganath Temple and kastamandap and other historical sites if time permits.In the evening we get our equipment checked by our trek leader and meet fellow participants.Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 03: Drive to Sundarijal and hike to Chisapani :

After having breakfast at a hotel, we will drive to Sundarijal which takes about an hour and we start our hiking from Sundarijal, the trail gently goes up with pine and oak forest, this Shivapuripuri National park is a good spot for bird watching and some other wild animal can be seen during this hike. From Chisapani, we will see a panoramic view of Himalaya and the valley. And this is the resident of the Sherpa ethnic group; this is the nearest place from Kathmandu where you will experience the culture and the lifestyle of Sherpa indigenous. Overnight in Chisapani.

Day 04: Chisapani To Nagarkot :

Enjoy the view of the mountain from Chisapani. Doje Lakpa, Chova Vamre,Langtang Lirung,Ganesh Himal,Manaslu Himal and other peaks are seen close-ups. After breakfast, our trek starts and leads through Chauki Bhanjyang, which takes about 2 and a half hours. We continue the charming trails leading us towards Nagarkot.

Nagarkot is by far one of the most popular destinations for sunrise and view of Himalayas. In a clear day the Himalaya range, stretching from Dhaulagiri in the west all the way past Everest to Kanchenjunga in the east, emerges from the darkness to greet the happy visitor with its awe-inspiring majesty and beauty.Overnight in Nagarkot.

Day 05: Nagarkot to Dhulikhel :

After breakfast in the hotel, we start our long day walk to Dhulikhel. It is beautiful walking through in the countryside of Nepal’s rural villages. You will experience the beauty of nature altogether rural lifestyle and diverse culture.

As we reach Dhulikhel, a glut of cultural diversities, traditional practices, lush vegetation and rich bird life unfolds before you. Dhulikhel (1440m.) is a small town of Newar ethnic community of the valley with a long history. The artistic skill and urban ethos of its Newar inhabitants have created a place of charm and beauty. Streets are lined with bare-brick houses, carved wooden windows, sloping roofs, pagoda temples and sacred statues here and there.Overnight in Dhulikhel.

Day 06: Dhulikhel to Kathmandu :

From Dhulikhel, the trail ascends to the Kali Mandir and the trail drops down to the village of Kavre and pass through a line of shops and tea houses. It then climbs again through pine forest past Phulbari and up and down a couple of more hills before you reach the hill of Namobuddha. Namobuddha situated at an elevation of 1750 m is a very important Buddhist Pilgrimage located in Kavre District about 38 km east of Kathmandu. From Namobuddha we drive back by private car to Kathmandu.Overnight in Kathmandu hotel.

Day 07: Final Departure

Our journey to Nepal comes to end.A representative from Himalayan Encyclopedia will come to drop off in the airport before 3 hours to the scheduled flight. It was wonderful memory and pleasure to serve our valued customer in Himalayan Encyclopedia Treks.On the way to home, we have plenty of time to plan our next adventure in the beautiful country of Nepal.
