Helambu valley trek is a short and beautiful trekking in Langtang region. The 5-7 days Helambu Valley trek, you will experience amazing lifestyle of Tibetan influenced Buddhist people. Helambu valley trek can be start after driving 27 km to Sundarijal from Kathmandu.

Helambu valley trek start from Sundarijal village which is beautiful remote village from Kathmandu. There is a small hydropower in Sundarijal. We will visit Shivapuri National Park for the observation of different kinds of endangered species. This is short and beautiful trek which is suitable for any ages group. Helambu valley trek is culturally and naturally rich region for trekking and exploring.

The highest point of Helambu valley trek is 3500m and you don't feel altitude sickness as it lower elevation other than base camp trek. During our trek we will pass through local village, Buddhist monasteries, different landscapes, temples, beautiful rhododendron forest and so on.

Details Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrival in Kathmandu and Trip Preparation

Upon your arrival in Kathmandu Airport, A representative of Himalayan Encyclopedia will wait outside of the airport with your name signage to welcome you to the beautiful country Nepal. He will take you to the hotel. In the day, there will be trip briefing. We will provide you much more information in the briefing which help you to prepare the trip nicely. In the evening you can explore touristic city Thamel. Overnight in Kathmandu Hotel.

Day 02 : Kathmandu to Sundarijal and Trek to Chisapani (2300m)

Today we will drive to Sundarijal and hike to Chisapani village. We will have lunch at Mul Kharka village and continue our journey to Chisapni. Chisapni is a beautiful village of having panoramic view of Ganesh Himal, Manaslu Himal, Gaurishankar and Langtang Himal Ranges. Overnight in Chisapani.

Day 03 : Chisapani to Khutumsang (2446m)

After having breakfast we start our trek to Kutumsang with the panoramic view over the Annapurna, Ganesh Himal and manaslu ranges. We will walk through lush forest, local communities of Pati Bhanjyang Village. Khutumsang is a beautiful village mostly inhabited by Sherpa and Tamang communities. Overnight in Khutumsang.

Day 04 : Khutumsang to Thadepati (3650m)

Today we will hike upto Thadepati village from Khutumsang. Today we will check in Langtang National Park Permit station and walk forward. We will walk the oak, pine, Sal and rhododendron forest. We walk up to the Yurin Danda ridge and continue our journey to the Thadepati. Overnight in Thadepati.

Day 05 : Thadepati to Tarke Ghyang (2560m)

After having breakfast at Thadepati we start our trek to Tarke Ghyang. The total trek duration will be about 7 hrs. from Thadepati. We walk through pine, rhododendron, fir forest and reach to Melamchi Gaun. We steep down to Melamchi river and cross the suspension bridge and uphill to Nakote Village. We continue our journey to Tarke Ghyang which is famous for wood products, Tibetian Carving and green apple orchads. Overnight in Tarke Ghyang.

Day 06 : Tarke Ghyang to Sermathang (2610m)

Today we will leave to Sermathang village. We walk through wide valley of Parachin and Sherpa village of Gyangul. There is a Buddhist Monastery at the top of the village which is major attraction of this place. Overnight in Sermathang.

Day 07 : Sermathang to Melamchi Bazaar

Today we will hike to Melamchi Bazaar which is Sherpa settlement of local communities. Today is the last day of our trek, so we can relax after reaching to the tea houses. Overnight in Melamchi Bazaar.

Day 08 : Drive to Melamchi to Kathmandu

Today we will drive to Kathmandu through Araniko Highway. The Scenic drive from Melamchi to Kathmandu takes about 5-6 hrs. After reaching Kathmandu, we will enjoy at touristic city Thamel. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 9: Final Departure

Your wonderful journey to Nepal come to an end today. A representative of Himalayan Encyclopedia will drop to you at the airport, about 3 hours before your flight. We say Good Bye for this time and hope to see you in Nepal again for next adventure.
